A compilation of traditional prayers for the Souls in Purgatory.

This book contains prayers to assist the Souls in Purgatory. It contains a thirty-day novena traditionally said in the Month of November (the month of the Holy Souls), The Our Father for the Holy Souls, The Hail Mary for the Holy Souls, Prayers for a Departing Soul, Prayers for Every Day of the Week in Honor of the Precious Blood, prayers in Honor of the Five Wounds, The Way of the Cross for the Holy Souls, a Nine Day Novena for the Holy Souls, a prayer for One Overtaken by Sudden Death, and many other traditional prayers that are a practical means in assisting the Holy Souls in Purgatory to their eternal reward. These prayers, by Saints, encourage us to remember the dead.  

It is an act of charity to pray for our loved ones, and those departed souls who may not have anyone to pray for them.  The Souls in Purgatory, the Church teaches, can benefit from our prayers and their prayers can help us.  Is there not a better way to pray for the departed souls than by mediation on the final hours of the earthly life of Jesus in the Way of the Cross?  Remembering, Station by Station, the Passion and Death that our Lord endured not only for these souls in Purgatory, but also for all souls.  Pray that the same Christ, Who conquered death, may soon welcome into the eternal light of Heaven the souls of our loved ones and those of all the faithful departed.
